He was addressing students after inaugurating the colourful annual sports meet in a frolicsome atmosphere at the Expert Pre=University College, Time Square ground in Valachil - Mangaluru.
Earlier, there was a spectacular display of march-past with precision and perfect synchronisation by the students from the four houses - Arkavathi, Hemavathi, Nethravathi and Sharavati.
Master Prajwal Roodigi, sports secretary led the march-past. Prof Narendra L Nayak the chairman of Expert Group of Institutions presided over the function and accorded a floral welcome the chief guest.
Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions was present on the occasion and honoured the chief guest with a memento.
Ankush N Nayak, director Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions; Deepika A Nayak, Subramanya Udupa vice-principal (academic) and Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (admin) graced the occasion.
Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, administered the oath to the participants of the various sports and games.
Hariprasad B, programme director accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries. Balakrishna Shetty, assistant programme director proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was anchored by Nishat Fathima, lecturer in chemistry.
Later, the students participated in various sports and games.
