Mangaluru: Floyd D Mello, Cascia's 'Kallza Umalle' enthrals packed audience

Mangaluru, Nov 14: 'Kallza Umalle' which enthralled the music lovers with its superb rendition of songs, music, dance, and rib-tickling comedy was held at the Don Bosco Hall on Sunday, November 13.

The event was organized by Floyd D Mello Cascia, a familiar name in the Konkani community as emcee, actor and TV host.

The evening began with a formal inauguration which was graced by Fr Rocky D'Cunha, president, Konkani Natak Sabha, Fr Eric Crasta, parish priest, St. Rita Church, Cascia, Walter Nandalike, founder, Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd, Eric Ozario, Gurkar, Mandd Sobhan , Anil Lobo Fermai, chairman , MCC Bank, Rons London, founder, RR Films, Bro Denis Mascarenhas, Muscat, Santhosh Sequeira, founder, Santhosh Arrangers, Stany Bela, production director, Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd, John M Permannur, playwright and director, Jerry Bondel, lyricist and singer, Linet Castelino, retired police officer, Urban D'Souza, founder, Vishwarani Studio, Stanly Bantwal, media and publicity in-charge and Praveen D'Souza, musician, Mudipu.

In memory of Kallza Umalle and their first wedding anniversary, Floyd and Deliya handed over financial aid to the dialysis patients. On behalf of the hospital, Reena D'Souza, in-charge, Dialysis Unit, Fr Muller Hospital, accepted the cheque .

Lauding Floyd D'Mello's 'Kallza Umalle', Walter Nandalike said, "Floyd is the person who always thinks in an innovative way. He proved that a music lover also can present a musical nite with the help of singers and musicians. These types of efforts encourage the people who have particular talents like singing, song writing or playing music. I congratulate Floyd and Deliya for thinking of a musical concert on the occasion of their first wedding anniversary. At the same time, they also contributed a certain amount to the dialysis patients. People who always think about society can only do these types of gestures. I congratulate Floyd and wish all success to Kallza Umalle."

Floyd D'Mello lived up to his reputation as an emcee with his oratory skills and captured the hearts of the audience. The concert mainly comprised meaningful lyrics penned by various lyricists and mesmerizing compositions of legendary and young music composers covering various topics.

As usual the young singing sensations JigiBigi Taram fame judge Joshal D’Souza, MTG fame Velita Lobo, SOAD fame Sonal Monteiro, Jason Lobo, Rolston Pinto and Ditesh D'Souza enthralled the audience with their melodious voices. Soad-1 finalist Sunil Monteiro also rendered a few songs to a huge applause from the audience. The day ended with the song ‘Dev Borem Karum’ sung by all singers to the standing ovation from the crowd.

Noted musicians Rajesh Moily, Rajendra Bubly, Ralph Roshan, Vijay Noronha and Prajwal Fronterio handled the music. Team Show Stoppers mesmerized the audience with their mercurial steps. Members of KNS created a laughter riot with their comedy performances.

Each and every performer gave a wonderful and splendid presentation and managed to captivate the hearts of the audience.

Well Known emcee Manu Bantwal compered the inaugural part of the event. Deliya Ivin Crasta thanked the dignitaries, supporters and audience who gathered in large numbers.

Preetham Noronha received much appreciation for his coordinating skills in organising Kallza Umalle.

    That is right. Floyd has always been in the forefront in promoting new talents and in organizing music related events. Needless to say, he is the pillar of strength to Konkani Natak Sabha. It is rightly proved people with certain interest like music and energy to work hard can do wonders by organizing such successful musical shows as Floyd has done. Congrats sir. You are a lead to all youngsters to come forward. Looks like his wife Deliya is also very complementary to his ambitions. Wishing the couple happy anniversary and hoping many many more such occasions to come.
