Udupi, Nov 14: The charred body of a private bank's legal officer was found at his residence here on Monday, November 14.
The deceased is identified as Raj Gopal Samaga (42).
The neighbours who saw smoke emanating from the residence of Krishna Samaga on Vadiraja road near Krishna Math alerted the residents. The residents of the house immediately informed the police and the fire brigade. The fire service personnel and the police who arrived, here broke open the room door as it was locked from inside and found the dead body of Raj Gopal Samaga in a burnt state.
Police suspect that his mobile phone might have exploded and caused the fire as the deceased was working on his laptop and mobile.
Gopal who was on duty at the bank’s Hyderabad branch was transferred to Mangaluru a month ago.
He has left behind his parents, wife and a son.
