Kundapur, Nov 15: Superintendent of police Akshay Machindra said a team headed by Kundapura CPI Gopikrishna has been constituted to investigate the mysterious circumstances under which senior dentist of Badiyadka Dr Krishnamurthy was killed.
After inspecting the railway track in Kadu Ajjimane of Hattiangadi village in the taluk, the Udupi SP told reporters at the DySP offie here that a team comprising three SIs headed by CPI Gopikrishna will begin investigation into the murder case from all angles. One team will leave for Kasargod and has begun co-ordinating with the local police there.
The mortal remains of the slain dentist Dr Krishnamurthy was found in pieces at Hattiangadi in Kundapura rural police station limits.
The police has conducted a spot visit for the second time and the team comprises technical and forensic science experts who are likely to submit their findings to the police.
Kundapura DySP will take charge of the overall investigation of the case. Evidences are being collected from Railway sources and CCTV footage.
The dead body of the dentist Dr Krishnamurthy was found at a distance of 5 km from Kundapura railway station. Friends and family members of Dr Krishnamurthy have expressed their suspicions about the manner in which the killing took place.
The Udupi SP said the investigation is being carried out to remove all suspicions and misgivings regarding the case.
He said the police have prepared a proper strategy and plan to investigate the case.
Meanwhile, Kasargod police have also arrested a few people in connection with this case.
He said the investigation will clearly show the direction and provide vital links to the case.
Kundapura DySP Srikanth K, CPI Gopikrishna, PSIs of the investigating team Pavan, Sridhar Nayak, Prasad and other officials were also present at the railway track spot inspection site. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into service.
Police book case against youth for FB post
Meanwhile, Vidyanagar police have registered a case against Rashid, a youth from Alampadi for posting a derogatory remark on Facebook page in connection with the mysterious death of dentist Dr Krishnamurthy.
The police have upped their ante against such posts in the social media.
Dr Krishnamurthy's family members, who is a well-known dentist of Badiyadka, feel that the dentist is not so faint hearted as to end his life. It is for this reason that the police have intensified the investigation of the death of Dr Krishnamurthy.
The dentist's daughter Dr Varsha met home minister Araga Jnanendra in Mangaluru and requested the government to conduct an inquiry into the death.
