Bantwal, Nov 15: A tipper lorry got stranded on Tuesday, November 15 in between the Netravati river at the spot where the works of new Panemangalore bridge are in progress.

The lorry belongs to the Divyaroop contractors company. It was lifted from the water and brought to the shore using a JCB.

KNRC company who are assigned the national highway four lane work have begun the construction of the bridge. Nearly 75 percent of the pillar work was completed at the end of May and the remaining work was suspended due to monsoons. The work resumed as rain subsided and the water in the river was less.

The water is being blocked by putting mud in between the river for pillar work. The river level increased all of a sudden on Tuesday while the water was being blocked. While the lorry had to go to shift the mud from one part to the middle of the river, the soil there was washed away. The lorry could not proceed further and got stranded. The JCB pulled the tipper and brought it to the road.
