Sullia: One dead, 10 injured in KSRTC bus-container truck collision

Sullia, Nov 16: In a ghastly accident that occurred between a KSRTC bus and container truck near Kallugundi of Arandtodu in the taluk on Tuesday, one died and ten people got injured.

The KSRTC bus was arriving from Mysuru and proceeding towards Puttur. Locals quickly shifted six injured to Sullia government hospital and KVG hospital.

Truck driver Siddu, who was seriously injured in the accident died on the way as he was being shifted to Mysuru. He was stuck between seats and fighting for life. A gas cutter was procured, rod was cut and he was brought out of the vehicle. Both legs of Siddu were badly injured. One more passenger in the bus was removed using gas cutter to cut the seat rod.

Injured Rudraraj of Chikkamagaluru, Surendra of Shivamogga, Rama Naik of Bantwal Punacha, Yunath Keremoole Sullia and Thambi Koyanad are admitted to hospital.

Police visited the spot and are investigating further.
