Beltangady, Nov 16: A man was arrested in connection with threatening a man and forcing him to end his life over the issue of repayment of loan taken from self-help association.
The arrested is identified as Yogish (34), a resident of Thotattadi. Chandrashekhar (24), who had taken a loan from the self-help association was threatened by four people of the association with regards to repayment of the loan. A distraught Chandrashekhar tried to kill himself on August 25 and was admitted to hospital. He succumbed on September 23.
Family members of the deceased filed complaint with Dharmastala police station on four persons of the self-help association, accusing them of abetting suicide of Chandrashekhar.
Now the police team led by PSI Anil Kumar arrested Yogish and produced him to the Beltangady court. Search for other accused is on.
