Udupi: Leopard trapped in metal fence, handed over to forest department

Udupi, Nov 16: A leopard was found trapped in a wire fence at Adapadi Padav, Shirva Gram Panchayat limits on Wednesday, November 16.

The incident occured in the forest area beside Shirva – Palli road near Ashwadakatte. Forest officials of Padubidri rushed to the spot as they were alerted. Prathvi Salian, veterinary doctor of Udupi injected the anesthesia to make the animal unconscious.

The forest officials took custody of the leopard with the help from local people.

The animal was left in the forest once it regained consciousness.

The local people were tired of the leopard menace so far. They are now relieved as it has been sent back to the forest.
