Mangaluru: Yenepoya Institutions celebrate Founder's Day

Mangaluru, Nov 16: Founders Day was celebrated on November 14 to commemorate the memory of the founders of ‘Yenepoya’ and their contribution to its development. On the occasion, teachers are awarded with the annually held award ceremony, ‘Yenepoya Teacher Award’ along with cash prize of Rs 15,000 based on specific criteria’s.

There were large number of applications for the Yenepoya Teacher Awards this year in Primary and High School categories. It was a task to pick the best in each category and to do this we had a scrutiny board which included experienced people in the field of education. This year, Ismali K from Primary category and Vasudeva Rao from high school category were awarded and felicitated at The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management College, Kulur, Mangaluru along with the grand inauguration of the College’s campus at Kullur.

Many important personalities were in attendance namely Dr Ashwath Narayan C N (minister for Higher education), Nalin Kumar Kateel (Member of Parliament), Dr Y Bharath Shetty (MLA), Jayanand Anchan (mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation council), U T Khader (Mangaluru constituency), Kiran Kumar Kodikal (corporator, Bangrakulur) along with the Yenepoya Trustees, family and the entire Yenepoya fraternity. Founders Day has yet another significance as it marks the birthday of our chancellor, Dr Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, which highlighted the celebrations at the college campus in Kullur.
