Mangaluru: Students of SJEC excel in various Sports categories at VTU level

Mangaluru, Nov 17: The Sports teams of St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor, Mangaluru put on excellent performances in the recently held Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) level events in various categories and won laurels for the College under the guidance of PED, Vaneesha V Rodrigues and Sudheer M, assistant PED. SJEC Women’s Shuttle Badminton team were the runners up in the VTU Mangaluru Division Shuttle Badminton Tournament held on November 4 at NMAMIT, Nitte.

SJEC Men’s Table Tennis team has secured runners up in VTU Mangaluru Division Table Tennis tournament held on November 2 at SDIT Kenjar. Devi Kiran Shetty III year AIML student St Joseph Engineering College has secured Gold in VTU below 102 kg category weightlifting competition held on October 29 at GAT Bengaluru. He has been also been selected to represent VTU in All India Weightlifting Competition.

SJEC Men’s Hockey team has secured first place in the VTU Mangaluru Division Hockey Tournament held at NMAMIT, Nitte on November 11, SJEC Women’s Hockey team secured the runners up in the VTU State Level Hockey Tournament held on November 9 at Sri Sairam College of Engineering, Bengaluru.

The management – SJEC congratulated the students and the physical education directors for this overwhelming achievement at university level events.
