Puttur: St Philomena PU College organizes 'Prathibha' - Inter school competitions

Puttur, Nov 21: St Philomena PU College, Puttur organized 'Prathibha' - One day inter school competitions for High School students on November 17 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The president, Fr Stany Pinto, campus director of St Philomena Institutions said, "Talent is important because it is the foundation of all success. Without talent, we will not be able to achieve goals. Talent is what allows us to do something better than others. It is the key to unlock one's full potential."

The chief guest, I K Bolwar, Theatre worker for children said, "No matter how talented one is, he will never achieve success if he does not use his talent. We must be willing to work hard and put in the effort to achieve our goals. Talent is only part of the equation; we also need dedication, determination, and perseverance".


The guest of honour, Maurice Mascarenhas, vice president, Parish Pastoral Council, Puttur said, "Everyone has the potential to be successful in life. One should develop their talent and use it to their advantage. It is never too late to start developing one's talent." He further advised students to use their talent to achieve their goals.

PTA member, ShivaPrasad Shetty and vice principal professor Ganesh Bhat, St Philomena College were present on the occasion.

About 25 high schools participated in various competitions like Quiz, Collage Making, Best out of waste, Painting, Seminar (English/Kannada), Folk dance, Science model, Clay model and Launching a product.

Dr Asha Savithri P convenor of Prathibha co-ordinated the programme.

Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta, principal welcomed the gathering. Dr Asha Savithri P, dept of Hindi proposed vote of thanks. Prashanth Bhat, dept of Chemistry compered the programme

Valedictory and prize distribution ceremony was held at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The president, Fr Stany Pinto, campus director of St Philomena Institutions said, "Everyone is intelligent but, in most cases we are unaware of the field in which one is intelligent. So, one should grab the opportunities and know their own strength".

The chief guest, Deepak Menezes proprietor, Souza Metal Mart, Puttur Said, "tudents should bring out their hidden talents so that they can make the best use of the opportunities available".

Vivekananda Kannada Medium High School bagged the winners trophy. SDM High School, Ujire bagged the runners up trophy. Jnana Ganga Central High School, Bellare bagged the second runners up trophy.

Sathyalatha Rai M, dept of English welcome and compered the programme. Bharath Kumar, dept of Political Science proposed vote of thanks.
