New Delhi, Nov 22: The union government passed an order abolishing the self-declaration form filling process for international passengers on Air Suvidha portal declaring the status of their Covid vaccination.

The decision of the union government is effective from midnight of November 21.

Ministry of health and family welfare issued revised guidelines for international arrivals in India in the wake of the progress that is made with regards to Covid vaccination throughout the globe and declining incidence of Covid cases throughout the globe.

Submission of self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha Portal is discontinued, says the statement of ministry of civil aviation. The revised guidelines of the health ministry say that the current ruling may be reversed depending upon the future Covid situation.

International passengers had to declare their vaccination status, number of doses received, dates etc on the online portal of civil aviation ministry. This was concurrent with the rules that were followed in most of the countries throughout the globe.

Though the ministry has ordered the international arrival passengers not to self-declare the vaccination status, it still said that it preferred the passengers to be fully vaccinated and also use face masks and maintain social distance at airports.

The rule of wearing face mask as abolished by the civil aviation ministry last week but it also advised passengers to be cautious and use the same for their safety and prevent another increase of Covid infection.
