Kundapur: Renowned Kundeshwara Lakshdweepotsava held

Kundapur, Nov 24: Chariot festival and Lakshdweepotsava were held with grandeur and devotion at the historically famous Kundeshwara temple on Wednesday.

From 9 am rituals like Shatarudrabhisheka, Kalashabisheka, Mahapooje, Prasada distribution and meals were provided to the devotees.

Bhajans were sung from sunrise to sunset. Countless devotees lighted lamps to Lord Kundeshwara in the evening. Pushpa Rathosava and Kattepooje were also held. Rangapooje and Mangalarati were held in the night. Then the idol of Lord Kundeshwara was carried in procession along with the beating of Jagate and other instruments.

Town procession of Pushpaka chariot was held throughout the town. It began from the temple and arrived at Carstreet on the early morning of Thursday.

Kattepooje was held in 16 spots during the procession. Devotees were distributed prasada near the Kattepooje spot.

Famours dance director Pravitha Ashoka presented dance programme by the artistes of her dance school Nritya Vasanatha Natyalaya.

Yakshangana, drama and musical programmes were arranged throughout the town by various organizations.

Streets from temple to main road were lit with lighting. In Kundapur market area also lighting decoration attracted the eyes of the devotees. A tableau which was made of the flower in the style of hit movie Kantara was the centre of attraction.

S Krishnananda Chatra, Sathish Shetty, Vishwanatha Poojary, Nagaraja Rayappanamata, Jayananda Kharvi, Sathish, Veena H, Savitha Jagadish, temple priests and others were present.
