Mangaluru, Nov 26: November 26 is celebrated as Constitution Day or Samvidhan Diwas or National Law Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. Lourdes Central School celebrated Constitution Day on November 26 in the School Lobby. The programme aimed at highlighting and reiterating the values and principles enshrined in the Constitution. The celebration began with the universal prayer followed by the prayer song led by Ivan Mascarenhas. The intentions were read by Sr Ivy Moras. Thought for the Day was given by Asmitha Tauro. Rekha Naveen highlighted on the importance of the day. The song on Constitution titled ‘India is our Motherland’ was sung by the teachers of LCS.
Belita Mascarenhas, the vice principal spoke on the occasion and said that freedom of mind is the real freedom, and one should have the Zeal for justice, to be exemplary and to be always peaceful.
The reading of the Preamble to the Constitution and reaffirming our commitment to uphold its ideology was led by Nishmitha Pinto. The closing ceremony of LCS Panache and the lowering of the School Flag was done in the presence of the Principal, the vice principal, Deepa DSouza and Mr Veerendra Alva; followed by the singing of the school anthem.
Fr Robert DSouza, the principal gave his message and said that teachers need to be like the sunflower giving life to the students, parents, society and the nation. He stated that the Indian Constitution is the longest written Constitution and wished long live the Constitution of India and long live LCS. The programme ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
Poornima Claret anchored the programme and Rekha Naveen was in charge of the programme.
