Class 10 student gang-raped by five classmates in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (IANS): In a shocking incident, a Class 10 girl was allegedly-gang raped by five of her classmates and also blackmailed by video recording of the sexual assault under Hayathnagar police station limits on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Though the sexual assault happened in August, it came to light now with the parents of the victim approaching police.

The accused recorded the sexual assault on their mobile phones and threatened the girl that if she revealed this it to anybody, they would upload the video on social media. Ten days later, they again sexually assaulted the girl by blackmailing her.

The accused allegedly shared the video on social media and when the parents came to know about it, they lodged a complaint with the police.

The police have booked five students, all minors, under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. They have been sent to juvenile home.

where is the question of minor when boys rape a girl? Treat them now as adult.Give punishment also must be same .Over that threatening the girl and Publishing is not minor peoples work. This rapes are going on without any punishment and order.Like in Bazar ,They must shiver at the punishment so that noone will dare in future to this.Hope the girl will atleast now in situation to recover from her shock.Parents of the boys should be summoned and be questioned.

Agree 110 percent with you. In these cases, these "minors" are adult enough to have sex and must be tried as adults and given punishment that is given to adults.

Remove the word 'minor' from application when the crime is rape. Try them as adults subjecting them to punishment as per IPC. No mercy. Train your daughter in self defence so that she breaks at least one limb of one of her tormentors and keep your daughters in comfort of ability to share all, good and bad with you.

@Deshbhakth, Forget removing the minor tag; the government has raised the age of marriage from 18 to 21. And here everything starts at very early age. Name a crime which is not committed by the so called non adult category.
