Byndoor, Dec 2: Former MLA K Gopal Poojary accused that as per the information received by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee around 19,000 voters are removed from the list of Byndoor constituency according to the 2014 list. Information is not given by concerned authorities with regards to people who are dead or migrated. Around 50 to 60 voters are removed from every booth. He deputy commissioner (DC) has to give information on this.
Poojary further said, “There is chaos in the voters’ list. Muslim voters of Gulvady village are added in Devalkunda booth. Similarly, Billava voters of Devalkunda ward are added in Gulvady. Irony is that there are not Muslim voters in Devalkunda village. There is a systematic political ploy behind the revision of voters’ list. The DC should inquire as to who is responsible for these chaos and erring people have to be punished.
“It is not right to specify only December 8 for revision and addition of voters’ list. If voters find that their name is missed, they should be given more time to add the same. It takes time to add 19,000 voters to the list. Information is given to all booth presidents. If justice is not done protest will be held at state level.
“Police stations are misused in every legislative constituency. Culprits are not punished. Political pressure is exerted upon honest officers. Freedom of speech is being snatched. If anyone publishes lacunas of the government on social media, cases are filed against such people,” he said.
