Mangaluru: Second day of annual feast St Joseph Vaz Shrine celebrated

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The second day of annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine was celebrated with great devotion on December 3.

Fr Assisi Rebello, the parish priest and shrine rector, Fr Ronald Pinto, the assistant parish priest Mudipu church, Parish Pastoral Council vice president Naveen D'Souza and the secretary Dr Irene Veigas along shrine committee and PPC members extended a solemn welcome to Bishop of Shimoga diocese Dr Francis Serrao to the shrine.

The solemn Eucharist celebration of the third day of the annual feast of St Joseph Vaz Shrine Mudipu was presided over by Bishop Dr Francis Serrao. Fr Andrew D'Souza, parish priest Bajal, Fr Henry D'Souza, parish priest Salethur, Fr Ashwin Cardoza director ICYM Mangalore diocese, Fr Assisi Rebello, shrine rector, Fr Rony Pinto, assistant parish priest Mudipu concelebrated the Eucharist.

Many devotees took part in the festal celebration all the piligrims were given Anna Santharpane. Fr Assisi Rebello, the parish priest thanked the devotees. Bishop honoured the donors with candles and blessed them for their generosity. Fr Vijay Machado, the director of Mangala Jyothi, compered the liturgical celebration.

U T Khader, MLA Mangaluru constituency, Chandrahas Karkera, former taluk panchayath president, Santhosh Kumar Rai Boliyar, vice president BJP Dakshina Kannada visited the shrine visited and sought the blessings and conveyed their wishes for the feast.
