Kundapur: Govt employees to stage indefinite protests in Bengaluru opposing NPS

Kundapur, Dec 14: Following the success of the protests held in Udupi on November 23, the state government employees have decided to stage an indefinite protest from December 19 at the Freedom park in Bengaluru against the share market based National Pension Scheme introduced by the government on April 1, 2006.

Raghava Shetty, district president of NPS Employees' Union Udupi said that all the NPS employees will participate in the protests. He was speaking after the preliminary meeting held at Kundapur Taluk Panchayat auditorium on Wednesday, December 14 evening.

Organization's taluk president Harish Shetty said that NPS directly affects the pension of government employees. Village accountant Deepa said that women employees should protest opposing the NPS policy and urge the government to implement the old pension policy between their family, children’s education and home maintenance.
