Mangaluru: Precaution after cooker bomb explosion - Security beefed up in city

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Police security is beefed up in crowded areas of the city in the wake of the cooker bomb that exploded in an auto rickshaw in the city on November 19.

On Wednesday, bomb detection squad along with sniffer dogs conducted operations at KSRTC bus stand, international airport, railway station, NMPT, industrial areas according to the information provided by police sources.

The media highlighted the lax of security even after the bomb explosion in the city couple of weeks ago. The police department, which got alerted due to the caution of media, conducted the bomb detection operation.

    Why precautions are take AFTER explosion and not BEFORE.... the accused was arrested before (graffiti case) why was such a weak case made that he was released

    "Ban cooker for further notice. No other solution." Then how to cook Buffalo meat? Forget Beef, even mutton is so stubborn it needs to cook in pressure cooker or some substance (softeners needs to be used for the purpose)

    Come on yaar! Nobody buy s this ' election' xhit anymore . Its a realised and accepted fact world wide. Every migrant destination has a problem .They came as refugees, pleaded for citizen ship and then their usual pay back is attacks. US , Australia, Europe, Lebanon, London, Brussels, Canada all have turned to a Terror bed with attacks happening every week. There is a common factor.

    Boda Sheera! At last ! This was something that was pending in good old Mangalore. Now its a potential terror target NOT from outsiders but by from locales. Good going. We always blamed Bajaranga Dala, RSS etc for vigilant activities and then we gift them Pressure cooker bomb, Smggling in private parts, Abusing of young boys, abusing minors, abusing cows and Goats.     Benki Nalin Kumar never gave a comment on the cooker blast in Mangalore. I am quite surprised. Either that he is worried of the Suratkal Toll gate closure or there is something fishy in the Cooker Blast conspiracy. Looks like 40% has taken a hit.

    Sameer, Why would Nalin make a statement. It does not make any difference. The situation favors him and his party. Had the Congress party leaders condemned , it would have shown that Cong is a fair and neutral party and does not tolerate terror irrespective of anyone behind it. Now playing dumb has depicted the DK Congress is more worried of their vote bank than national security. Its very obvious. So thats the bigger picture.

    Good measure but the question mark is how long or any guarantee that people's safety & security is fully guaranteed. Terrorists and their acts are carried out with all well-trained criminals, and they may strike out of blues! Unnecessary politics increases restlessness among communities which leads to sabotages and destruction and threat to lives of innocent people. All man-made calamities and dirty politics.
