Kundapur, Dec 16: MP of Shivamogga B Y Raghavendra met union minister Nirmala Sitaraman and appealed to revive Vishweshwaraiah Iron and Steel Company Limited (VISL) Bhadravati and invest necessary capital.
Raghavendra met Nirmala on Thursday and congratulated the union government for having stopped the process of withdrawing the capital from VISL. He urged the minister to take into account the capabilities of the workforce of VISL, culture of current labourers and invest necessary capital through Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
He also conveyed to Nirmala that VISL can contribute to the Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision of PM Modi by supplying various necessities of iron and steel for defence, atomic energy, automobile and railway sectors of the country.
Jagadish, president of labour union of VISL and office bearers were present.
