Mangaluru: SJEC wrestling team bags winners in overall wrestling championship

Mangaluru, Dec 16: The Wrestling team of St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor put on excellent performance in the recently held Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) State Level Wrestling Championship and won laurels for the College under the guidance of PED, Vaneesha V Rodrigues and Sudheer M, assistant PED organized by VVCE, Mysuru on December 12 & 13.  

SJEC wrestling team bagged the winners in Overall Wrestling Championship.

  • Mohammed Ismail Jaseem, IV Year mechanical engineering secured first place in below 57 kg category Wrestling Championship.
  • Mohammed Mazar IV year civil engineering secured first place in below 74 kg category wrestling championship.
  • Hussain Shabandri, II year civil engineering secured first place in above 100 kg category wrestling championship.
  • Mohammed Almaz Ibrahim, IV year civil engineering secured Third Place in below 79 kg category wrestling championship.
  • Nandeesh Vasanth Patgar, III year electronics & communication engineering secured third place in below 65 kg category wrestling Championship.

The SJEC wrestling team has been trained by old student Deepak, an engineer (4 times VTU Gold Medalist in Wrestling). The management – SJEC congratulated the students and the physical education directors for this overwhelming achievement at university level event.
