Mangaluru: Holy Family School annual sports meet held

Mangaluru, Dec 17: On December 16, the annual sports meet for the year 2022-23 was held at Holy Family School, Omzoor with great enthusiasm.

Chief guest Pradeep CRP, president Fr Alwyn D’Cunha (joint secretary of the school and parish priest, Holy Family Church, Omzoor), the guest of honours: Vishnu Narayan Hebbar (TPEO), Jayashree (president, Meramajal Grama panchayat), Patrick Pinto (vice-president, Parish Pastoral Council, Omzoor), Philomena Pinto (secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Omzoor), Arthur Dsouza (co-ordinator of Parish Commissions), Sr Cynthia Saldanha (superior, St Charles Convent & headmistress, Nithya Sahaya Matha High School, Arkula) and Sr Pramila A (headmistress, St Joseph’s higher primary Kannada Medium School), Sr Therese Madtha (headmistress), management, staff and students graced the occasion.

The guests were welcomed to the dais by the graceful school band. After the prayer song, the guests inaugurated the event by releasing the pigeons. The event was followed by ceremonial march past. The sports torch was borne by the athletes. Student participated in sports events, attractive physical exercises and cultural event.

It has been over 21 years since the school started and has educated over 2,500 students. Currently, the school has 20 staff and 460 students from Nursery to seventh std.

Sr Therese Madtha, the management, the staff and the students joined their hands together in making this event a grand success. Anitha Lobo and Leena D’Souza anchored the programme. The programme ended with the singing of the national anthem.
