Mumbai, Dec 17: Fire broke out at Junos Pizza restaurant, near Parekh hospital, Ghatkopar in the afternoon today, Dec 17. While one person died, two others have suffered burn injuries in the incident. The deceased was identified as Qurshi Dedhia.
“As fire was seen all of a sudden, Mumbai Fire service was alerted. Eight fire tenders were summoned to the spot to douse the fire,” said Mumbai fire service personnel.
As per the officials of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, three people were injured in the fire. They were admitted to Rajawadi hospital. Qurshi Dedhia, one among them has died.
As smoke increased due to the mishap, several people experienced breathing problems. 22 people among them have been shifted from Parekh hospital to another hospital.
The cause of the fire is not clear. Police officials and fire brigade personnel are investigating.
