Mangalore: Beary Sahitya Academy to Hold Series of Progs at Town Hall on May 28

Mangalore, May 24: Under the aegis of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy and Kannada and culture department, musical laughter session, Mittabail Yamunakka, Kannada drama and Beary folk art show will be held at Town Hall here on Saturday May 28 at 2.30 pm onwards.

State Minority Commission chairman Anwar Manippady will inaugurate the programme. Veteran litterateur Dr D K Chowta will preside.

The state legislative Assembly deputy speaker N Yogish Bhat, Coastal Development chairman Authority B Nagaraj Shetty, MLA U T Khader and Kannada and culture department assistant director Mangala V Naik will be the chief guests.

The ace comedians Richard Lewis, Mysore Anand, Asadullah Baig and M S Narasimhamurti will be assisted by musicians Babu, Venkatesh, Manju and Gopal at the musical laughter session.

Mittabail Yamunakka, Kannada play translated by Mohammed Kulai from the original works of Dr Basavaraj Suleripalya will be staged by Ranga Nirantara theatre group from Bangalore and is directed by Pramod Higgavn.
