Beltangady, Dec 21: A bike rider died in a road accident after a passenger bus hit the vehicle that he was riding on Tuesday, December 20 in the evening near Koyyuru Cross of Layila village.

The deceased is identified as Vijay (25), a resident of Navooru Malebavu of Bantwal taluk. He was working in a private company in Ujire. His pillion Shailesh (25), a resident of Kadabettu village of Bantwal taluk suffered serious injury and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The deceased Vijay and his pillion Shailesh were on their back home when this accident occurred. After the bus hit the bike, Vijay died on the spot due to impact of the accident and his bike got completely mangled.

The police visited the spot of the accident and cleared the traffic pile-up with the help of the locals. The police seized the bus and the Beltangady traffic police have registered a case.

The deceased Vijay was living with his mother and younger sister while his father had recently passed away.

Vijay hailed from a poor family and was their sole breadwinner.
