Mangaluru: Lady injured falling into open gutter - MCC files case against Airtel

Mangaluru, Dec 21: The Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) filed a criminal case against Airtel company at Bunder police station for their negligence after an elderly woman fell into an open gutter near Laxmidas Jewellery, Jyothi on December 19.

The complaint says that Airtel authorities had dug the gutter on a footpath for installing cables without the permission of MCC. The company had not taken any kind of preventive measures. Even while excavating the gutter and after the cable work, no preventive measures was taken.

The gutter was filled by the MCC. Now in the complaint, the MCC have urged cops to take action against the Airtel authorities for excavating the gutter without seeking permission and creating inconvenience to the public.

On December 19, an elderly woman was injured after she fell into the open gutter.

    If Airtel have excavated the gutter without MCC permission, how come they were not bothered since the time the work was in progress.? Why concerned department did not take timely action? Thank God the old lady suffered some minor injuries.

    Fully telling lies MCC. Hand in glove with Airtel. Anyone will Tell. For putting banners only, they will charge and take bribes. Petty street vendors they don't spare. Do raids. Confiscate scales of poor, sell and make money. Will they spare Airtel? U only tell. What a farce!!

    Why was MCC quite, only after the lady fell in the gutter their eyes opened? The MCC only waits for a person to fall and sacrifice their life and only then they will lodge a complaint. If the lady had not fallen there would be no complain from MCC. The public are only take for a ride.

    All political parties are responsible for such type of disasters. Are choosen them to work for the welfare of the society which is absent from many times. Let them show to yhe public progressive report each and every month want good job done to there respective wards. From the day of independance no political party ever think yo improve infrastructure like good roads, shelter, food, homes for all the basic things. Where the all tax money go..from the day of independance. How one can buy expensive car to run on indian roads..impossible task. No footpaths well worth to walk for elderly people.

    From Bunts hostel to Court road there is no footpath. Fully swallowed by No.7 gangs and other businesses. People and school children walk dangerously and can be crushed to death by vehicles as there is no footpath to walk. Overflowing/leaking drains always give stinky treatment to walking people near Bunts Hostel frequently. Even Aloysius Primary School to Court approach road is waiting for accident/deaths to happen anytime with open drain with steel rods waiting to pierce human bodies since couple of years. Keep CCTV alive in these areas so that you can file murder charges against government/MCC for being negligent since years. What a pathetic situation !!!

    @Jossey, I think you know there is a charge for incoming calls and SMS as well on roaming. Or they may be a package with fixed monthly charges. Nevertheless, airtel indeed is an expert in looting. This is my personal experience as well.

    You should send them a Bill for Rs 27000=for framing charges. Titling it as Fake Air Bill.On the flip side,they must have sent you the bill for roaming in America. Next time don't take phone only. Deposit their SIM with them only. Right??

    In Airtel for 84 days 2 GB package Rs 840/ and in Jio they charge Rs 720/ . Airtel is looted money like our central government.
