Covid not over yet, prepared to manage any situation: Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya

New Delhi, Dec 21 (IANS): After reviewing the Covid situation in India in the wake of several countries reporting a resurgence of the virus, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Wednesday said that the the pandemic is not over yet, but "we are prepared to manage any situation".

He made the remark after holding a review meeting with senior officials at the Nirman Bhavan here earlier in the day.

Taking to Twitter, the Minister said: In view of the rising cases of Covid19 in some countries, reviewed the situation with experts and officials today.

"Covid is not over yet. I have directed all concerned to be alert and strengthen surveillance. We are prepared to manage any situation."

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has also written to the states to ramp up the whole genome sequencing of positive cases to track the new Covid variant.

In the letter on Tuesday, the Ministry said: "In view of the sudden spurt of cases being witnessed in Japan, the US, South Korea, Brazil and China, it is essential to gear up the whole genome sequencing of positive case samples to track the variants through Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium network".

    Liberal Elite and china are playing games to make billions more in vaccine business also to maintain tyrannical control. Put normal flu patients, if slightly low in oxygen saturation directly on icu ventilators.Then no care or service and in ICU no loved ones visit. People die of deadly injections in the name of medicine or fear. Then blame the surge on new variant! Same thing happened in New York controlled by liberals or modern name for communists. Many elderly died on ventilators without any care or medicines as testified by an emergency flight nurse deputed there. It was just to create more fear about virus and force their experimental injections in the name to bring situation back to normal, on almost everyone. Now people are dying of their effects of vaccines with sudden cardiac arrests or brain clots. Communist chinese are smart manipulators and starving people for ruthless control as per Divine messages. When vaccine injuries and death cases came up in Indian courts, Central Government suggested citizen to file compensation cases against Serum Institute, responsible guilty officers of the state governments and not to seek from the Central government. ///// Affidavit says that the Central Government had not brought any mandates for compulsory vaccination therefore they will not pay compensation. The mandates were by the State Governments!

    Two years ago China/USA was not revealing the true facts of their covid situation there....how many died etc etc. Always whole world was pointing out India though we had less comorbidities than other countries. Now, how come China is publishing the facts that hospitals are full.....cemetries are full etc. Still more viruses you release mangesha china...

    Since media is heavily censored in China, how is it possible that so many pictures and news reports are freely available to the outside world? Apply logic and reason why this sudden negative propoganda from a country having a ruthless communist government with 100% media censored??

    The Govt should immediately stop all flights into or out of China in India, via or turn around. Airports need higher scrutiny and Air Suvidha and COVID tests should be made compulsory for all International travelers. We don't want another catastrophe here in India due to air travel passengers carrying virus here

    In a global village, it's practically impossible to enforce such a diktat!! Since the virus is airborne and highly transmissible even through fomites, banning travel is not a solution! Also, how do you keep control on passengers indirectly arriving from China?

    It's a highly virulent flu type illness; I read that SSI is getting ready to launch an Omicron specific vaccine to exploit the situation! BTW, nobody can stop the virus from mutating and no end to vaccines! Only when majority of the population gets full blown immunity will we be able to vanquish it!     Do not compare India with China. Chinese vaccines were not effective. In India we have natural as well as acquired (from vaccines) immunity. China starts with "C" ,covid starts with "C" and C...... also starts with "C".No marks for correct fill in the blanks.
