Mangaluru: The Shepherds' International Academy celebrates Annual Day

Mangaluru, Dec. 24: The Shepherds' International Academy, celebrated its 4th Annual Day with great fervour on December 22 at Town Hall in Mangaluru with the theme 'Illume -Be The Light'.

The stage was set up inline according to the theme. The chief guests were escorted by the school cabinet head boy Ahsan Hassan and principal Lubna Banu along with the band.

Principal of the PA First Grade College, Psychologist, mind trainer and coach Dr Surfraz J Hasim was the chief guest. Chairman Ar Mohammed Nissar, Gen secretary and trustee Mohammed Rizwan, treasurer and trustee Sajid A K and trustees S M Farooq, Nazim A K, Naushad A K, principal Lubna Banu and CAO Hasan Yusuf graced the occasion. The formal programme MC was Rubina Sathar who addressed the gathering and began the programme. The school prayer was recited by Abdurrahman Asif Bolar and Hafsah Bint Ameer. School anthem was sung by grade-4 students. The chief guests, parents and well wishers were given a rousing welcome by principal Lubna Banu. Prizes were given away to the students in the category of proficiency award, merit certificates for students scoring distinction in each subject, perfect attendance award and rising star award for students bringing accolades to the school, by the chief guest Dr Surfraz J Hasim, chairman Ar Mohammed Nissar and the principal Lubna Banu.

The school annual report was read by Sumyya Farheen the coordinator of SIA. The details of achievements, activities and academics were presented to the parents. Formal vote of thanks was given by Reshma K.

Chief guest Dr Surfraz J Hasim appreciated the school activities and efforts. In his talk he reminded the parents to take special care in the upbringing of the children and also to be focused on positive thinking and positive mind set up towards education and practical life. Chairman Ar. Mohammed Nisar announced scholarship facility for the deserving student in memory of the SIA trustee late S M Basheer. He congratulated and thanked the staff and students for their dedication and passion towards the school.

Little stars Mehreen Mujeeb Shaikh and Ashil Ibrahim Irfan from Mont-3 were the MC for cultural programme by the Montessori students. Numa Mariam Moideen from Grade-4 and Abdulla Shawaiz from Grade-3 were the star MC for the cultural programme performed by the graders.

The talented students rocked the stage with their mesmerizing cultural events such as action songs, skits, nasheed and Karate skills. Under the guidance of principal, the cultural programme was planned by the co-ordinator and programme convenor Sumayya Shaikh, Sameera Sharief and Sajida Fathima. Vote of thanks for the formal programme was given by Mohammed Marwan Faheem, he extended his gratitude to the chief guest Dr Surfraz J Hasim, chairman Ar Mohammed Nissar, managing director Dr Nafeesa Shareen, trustees, principal, CAO Hasan Yusuf, parents, well wishers, teachers, non-teaching staff and the students.

The programme was concluded with national anthem.
