Mangaluru, Dec 26: Jingle bells began to ring at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School on December 22. It was a big honour to have Vylan Dalmaida – alumnus, head of Creative Strategy at AKQA Middle East Dubai as the chief guest for the celebration. The guests were led by Jositta Noronha the headmistress to the auditorium filled with Christmas vibes.
Mangala Rai the vice–president of the PTA also joined the celebration. The students of class 2 were all ready to perform on stage. The programme began with a prayer song followed by words of welcome and welcome song wrapped with warmth of Christmas. The programme had a beautiful Christmas message, Christmas Polka, Chorus of Carols and of course the wonderful entry of Santa with children dancing to the tunes of Jingle Bells which increased the Christmas thrill in all.
The chief guest – Vylan Dalmaida, headmistress – Jositta Noronha, the vice president of the PTA – Mangala Rai honoured the winners of the various competitions held on the occasion of Christmas respectively. A wonderful Christmas message was delivered by Vylan Dalmaida in which he expressed his overwhelming joy for having invited him to be the chief guest of this joyous occasion. He narrated a story composed by himself which brought out the real meaning of Christmas. ‘Why’ of Christmas was explained in the story. What matters the most is people spreading joy, kindness and having fun in the process. It doesn’t take a grand gesture to spread joy. Even the smallest acts can help people feel the spirit of Christmas.
The headmistress also addressed the gathering in which she mentioned that Christmas is the season of giving and forgiving. She also appreciated the students of class 2 who brought liveliness among the audience. The programme was beautifully compered by the same class students. They thanked each one who was responsible for the success of the programme. To conclude the programme, the School Anthem was sung where the chief guest also joined in singing recalling his school days. Students were distributed Christmas cake. The correspondent organized a get-together for the members of the Primary and High School staff in the High School auditorium.
