Mangaluru: Expert PU College celebrates Christmas

Mangaluru, Dec 26: Christmas was celebrated with merriment at Expert PU College, Valachil. The chief guest Dr Jostol Pinto, associate professor and interventional cardiologist, Father Muller Medical College and an alumnus of Expert Coaching classes marked the beginning of festivity by inaugurating the Christmas Crib and lighting candles.

Dr Pinto lauded the Expert's vision of education which treats all faiths alike. He hoped that the Christmas would inspire everyone to work for the betterment of the society by promoting values like unity, peace and harmony. 

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions welcomed the guest with a bouquet and presided over the function. He wished everyone merry Christmas and prosperous New Year filled with success and happiness.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions in her keynote address emphasized the need for religious harmony in the society and wished that celebrations of festivals unite minds and hearts. She honored the guest with a memento.

The highlights of the celebration were Christmas carol singing and dance.

Ustad Rafiq Khan, trustee, architect Deepika A Nayak, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal, Rakshith Shetty, programme director and faculty members were present on the occasion.

Ayush S N, president of students' parliament welcomed the gathering. Vaishnavi V Kulkarni, general secretary of students' parliament proposed a vote of thanks. Suravi Sudhir, Suhana Mashakasa Melinamani and Moulya M of I PUC compered the programme. A sumptuous festive meal was served at the end.
