Udupi, Dec 26: “We are faced with the Covid scare once again. People should not panic about it but voluntarily prepare to maintain their well-being,” said district health and family welfare officer Dr Nagabhooshan Udupa.
“The governments at the Centre and the state have already issued several guidelines to control the Coronavirus. People should understand that it is their personal responsibility and should mandatorily wear masks, maintain social distancing and see that the virus does not spread in the district. Those who have already received two doses of the vaccine should take the third dose also,” he said.
“There is a provision to get the Corona vaccination and the testing swabs at primary health centres, community health centres, taluk hospitals and district hospitals. People should make use of the facilities. They should consult the doctors when they have symptoms such as cold, cough and fever,” he said.
“Udupi district had achieved 90% success in preventing the spread of Covid-19 and in administering the vaccinations. The citizens in the district should strictly observe all the Covid regulations now and ensure that the pandemic does not spread. The department of health is well prepared to prevent the spread of the virus with oxygen and beds being readied to meet any eventuality. People in the district should be cautious,” he said.
