Bommai performs Bhumi Puja for 4 statues, including Gandhiji, Ambedkar

Belagavi, Dec 29: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai performed Bhumi Puja for the erection of statues of four national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi and Dr B R Ambedkar in front of Belagavi Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Thursday.

Statues of Kittur Rani Chennamma and Sangolli Rayanna will also be erected.

Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, Ministers Govind M Karjol, C C Patil, Murugesh Nirani, Shashikala Jolle and MLAs and MLCs were present.

The Chief Minister later inaugurated the Kittur Rani Chennamma Zoo and other facilities at the Zoo.

Ministers, legislators and Forest Department Additional Chief Secretary Javed Akhtar were among those present.
