Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, May 27: State transport minister R Ashok has given the green signal for the establishment of a KSRTC administrative unit at Puttur, to tackle the problems arising due to the increase in KSRTC buses in the district.

A respresentation to this effect was made by MLA Mallika Prasad on Thursday May 26, following which the minister gave appropriate orders to implement the move.

Currently, the KSRTC Mangalore division alone handles the heavy traffic of its buses, from Kundapur to Sullia.

The proposed division at Puttur is aimed at facilitating smoother administration of these buses, by taking over the responsibility of depots at Dharmasthala, B C Road and Puttur.
