Udupi DC issues Covid guidelines to be followed during New Year celebrations

Udupi, Dec 31: Deputy commissioner (DC) Kurma Rao M released guidelines as precaution to prevent the spread of variant of Covid.

As per the guidelines all programmes that are slated to take place on December 31, January 1 and 2 need to be mandatorily closed by 1 am.

All functions which have large gathering of people should be held compulsorily in open area during day time. As far as possible celebration during early morning and late night should be avoided.

Owners and managers should ensure that the number of people does not exceed the seating capacity in hotels, bars and restaurant, resorts, pubs and clubs.

Wearing of face masks in mandatory in all public places, government offices, bus stations, prayer centres, temples, shops, industries and other factories. Use of hand sanitizer is compulsory.

If symptoms of fever, cough, cold and breathing are noticed, person should approach a doctor immediately. People who are above 60 years of age, those suffering from ill health, pregnant and lactating mothers should refrain themselves from participating in such functions and gatherings.

Organizers and managers of large programmes, hotels, bars and restaurants, pub, resorts and clubs and their personnel should take booster dose on priority. At least two doses should be taken.

All cinema goers, who go to cinema halls to watch movie should wear N-95 face mask without fail. Personnel manning the entry gate should ensure that the audience complies with the rule.
