Bantwal, Dec 31: “It will be appropriate to the MLA in the coast who failed to condemn the light talk of home minister Araga Jnanendra about the areca nut growers to resign and go home,” said former minister B Ramanath Rai.

He was speaking in the protests staged by Bantwal and Panemangalore block Kisan Congress committee at B C Road on Saturday, December 31.

He said, “Areca nut growers have increased after the land reforms and they are facing problems one after the other. They have continued as the Congress government has always supported them.

If the government plays with their lives, protests will be inevitable,” he said.
