Mangaluru, Dec 31: 'Time Square Music & Dance Festival 2022', Expert PU College’s prestigious annual event, featuring top-notch presentations by Nirupama and Rajendra of Abhinava Dance Company, Bengaluru was held here.
The magical music composer and singer of sandalwood Gurukiran was the chief guest on the occasion. After inaugurating the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp, he addressed the gathering. He expressed his admiration for the enviable achievements of Expert advised the students to live their dream. He also enthralled the gathering by singing few of his popular songs.
Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, accorded a floral welcome to Gurukiran and presided over the function. Ankush N Nayak, IT director, Expert, welcomed the dignitaries and the audience.
The rank holders and the top scorers were felicitated. The Expert Super Stars were honoured on the occasion. Prajwal Roodigi was adjudged as the best in non-scholastics and Byresh as" the best focused student, Madhupriya was honoured as the Super Star of Expert for the year 2022.
Later, Nirupama and Rajendra, the dynamic dancing couple and their Abhinava Dance Company enthralled one and all with their riveting Kathak dance infused with innovation and creativity. They performed vibrant compositions namely ‘Lasya and Laya’, ‘Panduranga Vitala-Abhangas’, ‘Shiva Thandava Sthrotra’, ‘Veera Abhimanyu’ ‘No Strings Attached’ and ‘Madananjali’.
Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman and Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions felicitated the artists and chief guest by presenting mementos to them. In her concluding address, the vice-chairperson admired the consummate artistry of the artists.
Dr Shivasharan Shetty, managing director of Namma TV, & the president Dental Association of India; Ustad Rafique Khan, Trustee; Deepika A Nayak, architect; Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal; invitees and members of the staff were present on the occasion.
Ambika K P from the department of Englsih introduced the chief guest. Druthi V Hegde, programme director, introduced the artistes, compered the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
