Bengaluru, Dec 31: Joining issue with Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his criticism of JD(S) for using Karnataka as the Deve Gowda family’s Any Time Money (ATM) cash dispensing tool and for the family dynastic politics, JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy has countered the BJP leader and accused it of using Karnataka as its ATM and following dynastic politics in the State and at the national level.

Kumaraswamy termed BJP as a party of liars and accused the Union Home Minister of being authoritarian and attempting to prove that he is a modern Goebbels, who would beat even the Nazi minister who was known for spewing lies and proving falsehood as truth.

Attacking Amit Shah for his tirade against JD(S) at the BJP meeting in Mandya, the JD(S) leader said his party would never use the State as its ATM and instead it will become the ATM of 6.5 Kannadigas and that of farmers, downtrodden, weak and physically challenged persons.

The JD(S) leader said BJP was using the State as its ATM and making money through the Basavaraj Bommai government’s corruption, 40% commission in all government contracts, looting and cheating of job aspirants, PSI scam, recruitment scam in doctors and professors, appointment of vice chancellors, Chilume voters’ data fraud and several other scams, including during the Covid pandemic.

Lambasting Amit Shah for attacking JD(S) for its family dynastic politics, Kumaraswamy asked the Union Minister as how his son Jay Shah became such cricket expert to become the Secretary of BCCI and wanted to know in how many test cricket matches or one-day international had Jay Shah played. When the Supreme Court has laid down who can serve as office-bearers of BCCI, how is it that Jay Shah remains as BCCI Secretary. "Is BCCI the ATM of BJP,’’ he asked.

Kumaraswamy informed Amit Shah to look at the political leaders in his own BJP at the national level and in the State and told him to just find out about B S Yediyurappa and sons, Jarakiholi and brothers, Jolle and Jolle, Angadi family, Udasi family, Jagadish Shettar and Pradeep Shettar, Ravi Subramanya and Tejasvi Surya, R Ashok- Ravi, V Somanna and sons, Aravind Limbavali-Raghu, S R Vishwanath- Vani Vishwanath, Murugesh Niranip-Hanumanth Nirani, G S Basavaraju-Jyothi Ganesh, Sriramulu family, Reddy brothers and many others.

"I can produce even longer list and also mention the family dynasties in BJP in different States and in the national level,’’ the JD(S) leader said.

He challenged Amit Shah "to utter his lies and falsehood before the people of Mandya instead of addressing only the party workers and the people will teach you a lesson. Your games and lies will not cut ice with Mandya people,’’ he warned.
