Several join JD(S) in Mangaluru South constituency

Mangaluru, Jan 2: Party workers’ meeting of getting new workers joined to the JD(S) was held at Suma Sadana of Kadri on January 1 under the leadership of Dr Sumati S Hegde, president of JD(S) Mangaluru South legislative assembly constituency.

The programme was inaugurated by Jake Madhava Gowda, president of JD(S) Dakshina Kannada district. Speaking on the occasion, Madhava Gowda said, “If the government of Kumaraswamy attains power in Karnataka, he will implement Pancharatna scheme as promised. This will help people to live a peaceful life. Workers of the party have to convey to the public about this scheme and try to bring the party to power.”

Many workers of Congress and BJP joined JD(S) under main leaders Riyaz A Kannur and Habib Falnir. The programme was presided over by Dr Sumati S Hegde. She asked party workers to join hands and make the party victorious.

JD(S) leader Janab Hyder Parthippady extended his wishes. Sushil Noronha, spokesperson of the party for DK district said, “The joining of more than 100 youth to the party shows that future of the state and country is in the minds of them. JD(S) is making waves in 38 wards of legislative assembly constitution.

State organizing secretary Zameer Shah, state fisheries president Ratnakara Suvarna spoke on organizing the party. Vice president of district youth unit Asif M A S Todar, Nagesh Balmatta, Kanakdas KUloor, Rash Byari, Sumith Suvarna, Francis, Iza Bajal, Latif Valachil, Vincent Kodikal, Veena Shetty, Kavita, Sharada Shetty, Priya Salian, Shalini Rai, Srimani R Shetty and many workers participated in the programme.

Mohmmed Altaf Thumbay was elected as the new chief secretary of the Mangaluru south legislative constituency of Dakshina Kannada district, while Iza Bajal was elected as vice president. Altaf Thumbay compered the programme.
