Udupi: Dr Padmaraj Hegde appointed dean of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal

Udupi, Jan 4: MAHE is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Padmaraj Hegde, professor, department of urology, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and deputy medical superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal as the dean, KMC, Manipal effective January 1.

Dr Padmaraj hails from Athrady of Udupi district. He completed MBBS and MS general surgery and M Ch (Genito Urinary Surgery) from KMC, Manipal. He was awarded FRCS from the University of Glasgow, Scotland and also holds MBA degree in Hospital Administration and Health Care Services.


Being an alumnus of Manipal, he joined the department of general surgery, KMC, Manipal as assistant professor in the year 1993. Since then, he is serving the institution in various capacities. He served as the professor of surgery, Melaka Manipal Medical College, Melaka, Malaysia. Currentely he is professor and unit chief, department of urology, KMC, Manipal.

A renowned urologist, Dr Padmaraj served as the director, Alumni Centre, MAHE. He served as the deputy medical superintendent, KH, Manipal before taking the position of dean, KMC.
