Mangaluru, Jan 5: A retired Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat staffer protested against the ZP officials for delaying submission of his pension papers to the government by returning the gifts that he had got during his  farewell on attaining superannuation.

The photo of G Sadananda, now retired assistant secretary of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, leaving his Mysuru Peta, garland and shawl on the table of superintendent of administrative section has gone viral on the social media.

Sadananda, who was in government service for 40 years, had retired on August 31, 2022. The administrative department of Zilla Panchayat had honoured him on attaining superannuation.

Sources at Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayt office said, “Sadananda visited the Zilla Panchayat office several times from November 2022 urging them to complete the process of documentation related to his pension. He was terribly upset over the delay of submission of the documents to the government. So out of frustration, he returned all the gifts that were given to him during his farewell.”

Sadananda said, “Due to medical treatment, marriage and other reasons including the loan which I have taken this delay has caused severe financial burden on me. I am facing financial difficulty due to the delay in disbursement of the pension amount.”

it is really good that the ex employee of corrupt office has got the taste of his own medicine.. then only these people who, while in service will not give a damn to the public...the file should be delayed by at least a year...then he will come to know how the common public feel when the govt servants make them run from pillar to post

It is only a question ,why cant people who are going in Pension suppose in six months ,apply for pension before ?They know in six months are going ,get ready papers? So that when in pension,it might be ready and pension will come ?Of course it requires lot of papers and time .Govt.reels are moving slower than private ones. Now they themselves are on the move must be come to realise.

When govt employees or ex govt employees have to face the heat themselves, they sing a different song. When they are on the other side of the chair and a faithful tax paying citizen comes for a service, it is only harassment. Get that document, get this document and of course ,40% charges extra.

Nothing works without 40% deal upfront. It applies even to govt employees.
