Udupi: Revision of voters’ list of five constituencies finalized

Udupi, Jan 6: Deputy commissioner (DC) M Kurma Rao informed that the voters’ list of five legislative assembly constituencies of the district is finalized as per the guidance of election commission.

Rao spoke at the meeting of various political parties that was held on Thursday at his office. The DC said that the final voters’ list is published in all polling booths, sub divisional, taluk offices and websites of the DC’s office on January 5 with January 1 as the cut-off date for eligibility.

In Byndoor legislative assembly constituency there are 112126 male, 117421 female and three gender minority voters. The total voters are 229550.

Under Kundapur legislative assembly constituency, there are 98224 male, 106298 female and three gender minority voters. Total voters in the constituency are 204525.

In Udupi constituency, there are 102192 male and 109439 female voters. The total voters are 211631.

In Kaup constituency the total number of voters are 184088 with 88114 males, 95968 females and six gender minority voters.

In Karkala constituency the total voters are 186451, out of which male voters are 89404 and females 97047.

Including all the five legislative constituencies there are 490060 male, 526173 female and 12 gender minority voters. The total number of voters for the district of Udupi are 1016245.

During the revision of voters’ list 16827 new voters were added while 5783 names of voters were deleted. 13321 voters were amended and transferred. During the special revision 13816 youth voters and 11331 differently abled voters are registered.

The DC said that the public can call 1950 and get information related to elections including the revision of voters’ list.
