Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Jan 6: Former chief minister (CM) S M Krishna announced on January 4 that he is retiring from active politics. In political circles of the state rumours started making rounds that Krishna has taken the decision because he was neglected by the BJP.

Krishna clarified on the same and said that he is 90 years old now and cannot act like a 50-year-old. So he is withdrawing from public life. He also said that the question of BJP neglecting him does not arise and he, himself is keeping away from politics.

Krishna said that his withdrawal from politics does not mean that he is opting to be a monk and he is ready to give advice on organizing the party if anyone asks for the same.

Krishna has been keeping himself off public life for some years due to ill health.
