Moodbidri: Horekanike procession held at Alangar Infant Jesus Shrine

Moodbidri, Jan 7: As a preparation for the feast of Infant Jesus on January 8, a Horekanike procession was organised on Saturday, January 7.

Devotees took part in large numbers carrying food materials for the festival meal.

Fr Gregory D'Souza, parish priest of Hosabettu, conducted the prayer service, blessed the devotees and the offerings they brought. He inaugurated the procession with a statue of Infant Jesus which was followed by a solemn Eucharistic celebration.

In his message, Fr Gregory explained the greatness of the one who gives cheerfully and blessings they receive from God for their sacrifices and generous heart.

Rajesh D'Souza, convener of 21 Commissions welcomed the gathering and compered. Edward Serrao, the newly elected vice president, proposed a vote of thanks. Evening snacks were provided to all who participated.
