Beltangady: Rs 9.6 Cr Grant for SKDRDP Works Sanctioned

Beltangady, May 29: Rs 9.6 crore grant has been reserved for the development work to be carried out through ‘Samudaya Abhivruddhi’ department of  Shree Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project.
At the meeting presided by Dr D Veerendra Hegde in which members of managing board were present, the advance budget of Rs 9.6 crore was announced for the development works to be carried out for the year 2011-12.

As per the programme ‘Jnanadeepa School Education’ implemented in various districts Rs 2.05 crore has been reserved to provide toilets in schools, drinking water, desk, bench, play ground, compound for schools among others.

Rs 2.55 crore has been reserved for the construction of milk dairy union building, anganvadi building construction, rural roads and small water supply projects.

Rs 60 lac has been reserved for the development of Hindu cremation grounds, aloycost iron chamber at graveyard, basic facilities for special schools and for the protection campaign of native cattle breed.

Rs 4.4 crore worth of student scholarship for 8,000 students has been alloted under Sujnana Nidhi programme. Sujnana Nidhi programme was started with the object of supporting technical and professional education of children of members of Pragatibandhu Swasahaya Sangha, an announcement said.
