Kaup: Police raid illegal cow slaughterhouse, confiscate 200 kg beef

Kaup, Jan 9: Kaup police raided an illegal slaughterhouse and confiscated 200 kg of beef. The accused managed to escape from the spot.

Acting on definite tip off, Bharatesh K, SI of Kaup police station along with other personnel went to Badagaraguthu of Mallaru village at 6.30 am on January 8. When they hid themselves and watched, they noticed two people cutting beef meat on a wooden block behind the dense forest area of bottle factory. One of the accused was identified as Mohammed Arif, resident of Bharath Nagar of Kaup and another’s identity could not be established.

As the police raided the slaughterhouse, both accused escaped from the spot and ran into the forest. Though the police personnel chased them, they could not be caught.

Police confiscated two black coloured heads of cows, 200 kg of beef, one knife, one sword, wooden block used for cutting meat, two tarpaulins, a white coloured nylon cloth and a bike. On checking the bike, they found driving licence in the name of Mohammed Arif.

A case in this connection is registered in Kaup police station.
