Mangaluru: Guest Lecture session titled 'Career after BSc Respiratory Therapy' held

Mangaluru, Jan 10: With the blessings of A Shama Rao, founder of Srinivas University, under the guidance of Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, honourable chancellor of Srinivas University, and Dr A Srinivas Rao, honourable pro-chancellor of Srinivas University, Department of Respiratory Therapy, Srinivas Institute of Allied Health Sciences, conducted the guest lecture session titled 'Career after BSc Respiratory Therapy' held on January 7 in LT5 Classroom, Medical Block, Srinivas University, Mukka.

The guest speaker for the session was Dr Jithin K Sreedharan (MScRT, FISQua, FNIV, PhD, FIARC - lecturer at the Prince Sultan Military College of Health Sciences, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; governor for India at the International Council for Respiratory Care; and general secretary of Indian Association of Respiratory Care), and session chaired by Dr Beena H B and proffesor Pavana Krishnamoorthy (dean, Srinivas Institute of Allied Health Sciences). Around 62 students participated in the guest lecture session.

The guest lecture started at 09:00 AM, the session was presided over by the master of ceremonies (MC) Liyana Ubaidulla – 5th Sem, and SafnaSuneer – 3rd Sem, BSc Respiratory Therapy Student. The programme began with the blessings of the Almighty Lord with a prayer song.

Kavya Shettigar K (assistant professor, course coordinator, Department of Respiratory Therapy) gave a welcome address to the speaker and all participants.

Dr Jithin K Sreedharan, started the session by sharing his life experience throughout his journey as a student while studying Respiratory Therapy Course. "To understand, no one must lose all hope when they face difficult times; try to overcome the situation by showing some attitude toward self-learning, which ultimately motivates you to lead a better future ahead," he said. He mentioned that a professional look on campus and a classroom with good discipline will take the growth of individuals to the highest level. Also, he concluded that choosing to study Master’s Degree fairly depends on the particular student. He made things understand in clear and gave wonderful tips for the young minds of future Respiratory Therapists. He also briefedabout the growth of Respiratory therapistsin the current years.

Dr Beena H B addressed the gathering and also briefed that students are in the right direction to achieve the dreams they have set for. Right after the meaningful address by all the dignitaries, a vote of thanks was rendered by Nandana Santhosh (lecturer, class coordinator, department of respiratory therapy).

The session ended with national anthem.
