Mangalore, May 30: After a long summer break, the city was once again abuzz with the sounds of children with their heavy bags hurrying off to their schools in various parts of the city on Monday May 30.
Traffic was back to its usual rush hour chaos, with honks blaring and autos overfilled with children.
For the children, it was time to reunite with friends and share their holiday stories. New uniforms, new books, bags, stationery and yummy tiffins - the excitement was very much palpable.
The younger children were accompanied by their parents who had to coerce and console, and in some cases force, their little ones who were still not over their vacations. For the first-times, it was even worse. Their long, sad and teary-eyed faces were in contrast to that of the older ones who were happy to be back with their friends.
It is back to another routine school year, with lessons, exams, lots of activities and hard work.
