Bantwal: Gram Vikas Yatra to be inaugurated on Jan 14

Bantwal, Jan 14: MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel will flag off the Gram Vikas Yatra that will be held for 13 days under the leadership of MLA Rajesh Naik Ullipady, on January 14 at 2 pm at Srikheshthra Polali.

MLA Naik gave details of the yatra in a press conference on the evening of Thursday. Naik said that the yatra will get over on January 26 at B C Road. Chief minister (CM) Basavaraj Bommai, former CM Yediyurappa and revenue minister R Ashok will take part in the valedictory function.

Rajesh Naik said that this yatra is organized to strengthen the party and also study the development that needs to take place in future. Out of the 59 villages, 58 will be visited.

Rajesh Naik has brought a grant of Rs 1800 crore during his tenure and implemented many developmental works. This includes dam that connects Bantwal with Narikombu at a cost of Rs 135 crore, concretization of roads, UGD tender for Rs 54 crore.

The foot march will begin with one religious centre in the morning and get wound up at another religious centre in the evening. 30 km distance will be covered every day. Union minister Shobha Karandlaje, state cabinet ministers Kota Srinivas Poojary, Angara, Dr Ashwathnarayana, C T Ravi, Harish Poonja, Umanath Kotian, Surendran and Annamalai will take part.

Along with foot march, booth flag campaign, victory vow campaign and programmes complimentary to the strengthening of party will take place.
