Udupi: Saptotsava celebrated with traditional fervour at Krishna Math

Udupi, Jan 14: Saptotsava was held with much divinity here in Sri Krishna Math on the occasion of Makar Sankrathi on Saturday, January 14. Three chariots were taken out in procession around the car street on the occasion.

The festival was celebrated with pujas in Sri Krishna Math and other temples across the district. Thousands of people gathered to witness the grand sight and bath in the bliss of divine grace.

‘Muru Teru Utsav’ including ‘Brahma Ratotsav’ was held at Sri Krishna Math on Saturday night as part of the seven-day celebration.

Teeppotsava was also held on the occasion which added more gaiety to the celebrations. Hundreds of devotees pulled the three chariots, duly chanting the name of the Lord.

Swamijis of eight Maths participated in the celebrations.

Later, the 'Utsava Murtis' were carried on to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and the Mangalarati and Chamara seve were performed followed by puja.

Fire crackers were bursted and the people celebrated as the crackers created multifarious designs in the sky.
