Mangaluru: Cold weather continues in coastal districts

Mangaluru, Jan 16: Cold weather continues to batter the coastal districts.

On the morning of Sunday high chill and mist filled weather was prevailing in both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The intensity was more in rural parts of the districts.

The maximum temperature recorded at Mangaluru international airport on Sunday was 31.3 deg C, which is two degrees less than usual for the same period. The minimum recorded was 21.5 deg C.

At Panambur, maximum temperature recorded was 32.6 deg C, while minimum was 20.5 deg C, which is one degree less than usual.

According to the weather forecast, a cold wave is going to hit southern interior parts of the state, increasing the chill further. The minimum temperature is likely to drop by three to six deg C in these areas. In coastal districts, the minimum temperature will rise slowly.
